Putting It All Together - A Public Domain Action Plan
 From:
The Desk of Damien Dupont
This is the tenth and final review article for Russell Brunson's Public
Domain How To course. If you've just arrived at this page, you can
learn about and
subscribe to all ten parts of the free e-course here.
As stated in part one of this series, the Public Domain How To course was created from a 2½ month mentoring program
which Russell Brunson conducted with a private group of about 20 coaching
clients, myself included. At the time of the coaching, the theme of the
course was to "Build Your Own Profitable Public Domain Business In
Exactly Six Weeks".
There were actually seven modules in the coaching series, but only six
modules (plus the session with lawyer Bob Silber)
were released in the physical course. The seventh module was actually a
31 Day Action Plan in which Russell mapped out a step-by-step
implementation of all that he had taught in the preceding six modules.
I have the seventh session on my hard-drive, but am not going to
replicate here. Instead I will simply use it as a base for an adapted action plan
which I will outline in this article, but I am substituting the "Day 1,
Day 2, Day 3" sequence in the original plan for "Step 1, Step 2, Step 3"
etc... in this article.
My reason is this. The original 2½ month coaching program was created for
members of Russell Brunson's Lost Files membership site. The Lost Files
provided members with three public domain books each month, each already
scanned and converted to Word format, complete with an accompanying letter
from a lawyer's office certifying that the works were in the public
domain, and each with a mini-site, graphics and sales letter.
So Day 1 of Russell's original action plan included:
|
|
 |
Selecting four or five public domain
books from The Lost Files; |
|
|
 |
Applying
for Google AdSense or another contextual ad program; |
|
|
 |
Getting a web-hosting account setup. |
And by Day 2, we were already starting to cut the books up and create
content websites from them. However... The Lost Files is now closed, which
makes all of the above unworkable in a single day, because now we have to:
|
|
 |
Search for four or five books on eBay
(or another source of public domain books as covered in module 1); |
|
|
 |
Do the
copyright research to ensure they're in the public domain (unless the
books were all published in the U.S. before 1923); |
|
|
 |
Order and get the physical books delivered; |
|
|
 |
Scan them or have them scanned and converted to digital format; |
|
|
 |
Write or outsource to have a sales-letter written. |
Plus, as I mentioned in my passive profits
article, Russell's methodology was to use a page generator program like
Quick Page Generator or Sonic Page Blaster to automate the process of
creating the content sites for each book by Day 2. I believe you can get
much better
results by doing it manually for the reasons I stated in that article.
Whilst much slower, the manual route will create a content site which will
stand the test of time and continue to be a passive earner for you for
years to come. But creating four or five content sites the manual way
yourself (together with all the other steps in the system) doesn't fit
within the six week timeline envisaged with Russell's original system.
There are other factors that affect the timeline as well, such as your
level of experience and whether you are doing everything yourself or
outsourcing many of the steps in the plan.
These variables are my reason for adapting Russell's original public
domain profit plan to Steps instead of Days. The original
plan is still achievable within six weeks if you are outsourcing and
automating the steps. Now let's get into how all the modules of the Public
Domain How To course fit together into a step-by-step action plan.

Perform copyright research to ensure
they are in the public domain; (module 1) |
